We usually begin by asking what your acceptable down time is and what your acceptable data loss is.
“Acceptable down time” tells us what window we have to make a backup or restore from a backup.
“Acceptable data loss” tells us the interval between backups.
That’s why those are helpful.
Once we know those, we can work on how to get there.
